Most Common Questions about our Standard First Aid Course

Standard First Aid, or SFA for short, is a regulated educational curriculum designed to provide up-to-date, practical life-saving abilities to the average person.

SFA is a longer curriculum, with more topics and more skills. It generally takes 2 days, or 14-16 total hours to complete.
EFA is easier, less intensive, and is designed to provide only the bare-bones basics to save a life.
We recommend choosing SFA.

Beware of any course that isn’t Ontario WSIB recognized.
Many international providers of First Aid & CPR programs provide very low cost courses which are fully online. The government of Ontario does not recognize FULLY online courses, and such, any certification you attain from passing such a course would not be valid in the province of Ontario.
Your employer would not accept it, and your skills may not be correct.

Our Founder and Lead Instructor Rayma Japal will generally instruct all our courses.
On occasion, a course may be taught by another fully qualified, experienced Oakville CPR and First Aid Instructor certified by Assured Response (our certifying agency).
All our instructors are trained Paramedics.

In general, we recommend getting certified in CPR C.
Choose CPR BLS (formerly HCP) if you’re in a healthcare or you’re a professional emergency responder.
CPR A is the lowest level - choose that if you’re looking for the bare minimum.
