Responsive Babysitting Course
Our Responsive Babysitting Course is designed for youth ages 9–13 and provides essential skills to help students become confident, responsible, and safety-focused caregivers.
This full-day program runs from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Wednesday March 17th, 2026, and is led by experienced Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) who specialize in working with children and youth.
Throughout the day, students will participate in interactive lessons, hands-on activities, and real-life scenarios that teach them how to care for younger children safely and responsibly.
🧠 Topics Covered in the Course
Students will learn:
Child safety and accident prevention
How to recognize and respond to emergencies
Basic first aid and injury care
How to stay calm and make good decisions under pressure
Safe supervision and age-appropriate play
Feeding basics and hygiene practices
Understanding children’s emotions and behaviour
Communication with parents and guardians
What to do in case of fire, illness, or unexpected situations

Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Supervision: Provided all day by certified ECE staff
Breaks: Regular rest and activity breaks included
Snacks & Lunch: Provided for all students

By the end of the course, students will be able to:
Recognize signs of illness, injury, and unsafe situations
Respond appropriately to emergencies
Provide safe, caring supervision
Demonstrate leadership and responsibility
Communicate confidently with families
Apply practical childcare skills in real-life settings
Each participant will receive a certificate of completion, showing they have successfully completed responsive babysitting and safety training.
